MY STORY
We first communicate through our bodies - initially in utero and later through being held by parents and others, providing our first lived experiences of feeling secure, safe and having our needs met. Sadly, this can sometimes go wrong and leave us with difficulties surrounding trust and attachment to others and feeling the world to be a scary place. Even if we are lucky enough to have that 'good enough mother', other aspects of life can affect how we see, believe or expect life to be like and also how we view ourselves.

As a Dance Movement Psychotherapist - a creative arts therapy - I believe our bodies are both a container of our lived experience and also a route to helping us understand about ourselves and integrate this into a more balanced, accepting and compassionate self-image. I retrained later in life, after teaching dance and working in marketing which has given me a mature yet curious outlook and a desire to help people help themselves to a more positive life.
